Pricing questions

Can I subscribe today?

No. There is no checkout and nothing can be charged. The plans show the direction we are testing.

Are these final prices?

No. They are pre-launch test prices that may change after customer interviews. Taxes are not included.

What is included in every plan?

Transparent matching with reason codes, human approval of allocations, an audit log and CSV export.

What is never included?

Holding or moving money, bank logins, payment initiation or digital euro wallets.

Short answer

Euro reconciliation software pricing usually depends on four things: how many bank transactions you match each month, how many users and client organisations you need, which import formats are supported, and how much review workflow is included. Our illustrative plans are €19, €49 and €129 per month, excluding VAT. They are pre-launch test prices, and nothing can be bought yet.

What drives the cost of reconciliation software?

Before you compare price lists, it helps to know what a provider is actually charging for. Most reconciliation tools, ours included, price on some mix of the drivers below. Many vendors do not publish prices at all and quote per customer, so this list is also useful as a set of questions to ask.

Cost driver Why it matters Question to ask any vendor
Transaction volume Matching, storage and review all scale with the number of bank lines What counts as a transaction: an imported line, a suggested match or an approved allocation?
Users Each extra reviewer needs access control and audit attribution Are read-only or approver seats priced differently?
Organisations or clients Accountants work across many separate ledgers that must stay apart Is each client a separate, isolated workspace?
Import formats CSV is simple. Structured bank statements such as CAMT.053 need more parsing and validation Which banks and file versions are tested?
Workflow depth Saved rules, approvals and reminders add value and support effort Which steps need human approval, and is that logged?
Integrations Live bank or accounting connections add contracts, security review and maintenance Is the connection direct, or through a regulated third party?
AI usage Model calls have a variable cost per document or transaction Is AI optional, and is it limited by plan?
Support and onboarding Mapping your first files can take more time than the software itself Is onboarding included, or billed separately?

A higher price is not always more expensive in practice. A tool that rejects half your bank lines because it cannot read the file format costs you the manual work it was meant to remove.

How do the DIGITAL EUR tiers map to your monthly volume?

The plans shown above follow the drivers in that table. The figures below are simple arithmetic on the illustrative prices, not discounts or promises.

Plan (illustrative) Monthly price, excl. VAT Volume limit Cost per unit at the limit Likely fit
Solo €19 Up to 100 matched transactions, 1 organisation €0.19 per matched transaction A freelancer or small company invoicing in euro, mostly by bank transfer
Growth €49 Up to 1,000 matched transactions, 3 users €0.049 per matched transaction A team with a few hundred incoming transfers a month and CAMT.053 statements
Agency €129 10 client organisations €12.90 per client organisation An accountant or agency reconciling for several clients

Below the limit, the cost per unit is higher. A Solo account that matches 40 transactions in a month still pays €19, which works out at €0.475 each. Choose the plan for your typical month, not your quietest one.

How do you estimate your own volume?

  1. Export three recent months of bank statements for every euro account you would reconcile.
  2. Count the incoming credits that settle customer invoices. Leave out internal transfers, loan movements and card payouts you already reconcile elsewhere.
  3. Take the highest of the three months, not the average. Seasonal peaks are when unmatched items pile up.
  4. Count the people who need to approve matches, and the separate companies or clients whose books must stay apart.
  5. Note your file formats. If your bank offers CAMT.053, that points to the Growth plan. CSV alone works on every plan.
  6. Compare the result with the table. If you are close to a limit, plan for the next tier up.

You can test step 5 now. The free Reconciliation Lab reads comma-separated CSV files of up to 2 MB or 20,000 rows in your browser. It shows which lines it can match and why, using the same reason codes as the planned product.

How do you compare software cost with manual reconciliation?

A fair comparison counts the full cost of each approach, not just the subscription. We do not publish figures for "time saved". We have no customer measurements yet, and any number we printed would be invented. Here is the method, so you can use your own numbers.

Monthly cost of the manual process = hours spent matching and chasing per month × loaded hourly cost of the people doing it

  • cost of errors found later (duplicate reminders, write-offs, corrections at close)

Monthly cost with software = subscription

  • hours still spent reviewing suggestions and exceptions × the same hourly cost
  • one-off set-up time, spread over the months you expect to use the tool

To measure the inputs:

  1. Time one real month. Have the person who reconciles log start and end times for matching, searching for references and writing to customers. A measured month is a better input than an estimate.
  2. Use a loaded hourly cost. Include employer charges, or your bookkeeper's actual rate, not just net salary.
  3. Record the exceptions. Count transfers without a usable reference, partial payments and overpayments. Software can rank these, but a person still decides them. In our matching engine, partial payments and amounts above the outstanding balance are flagged with penalties (POSSIBLE_PARTIAL_PAYMENT −15 and AMOUNT_EXCEEDS_OUTSTANDING −25) and are never approved automatically.
  4. Run a trial on the same month. Load that month into the Reconciliation Lab and time the review. Compare the result with your log.
  5. Include payment fees separately. They do not depend on the reconciliation tool. Our euro payment fee calculator estimates them.

If the software column is not clearly lower using your own measurements, do not buy it. That is true of our product too.

What is included in a plan, and what is not?

Included in every planned plan Not included in any plan
Matching with visible reason codes (INVOICE_REFERENCE +65, EXACT_AMOUNT +20, COUNTERPARTY_IBAN +10, COUNTERPARTY_NAME +5) Holding, moving or initiating money
Human approval for every allocation Logging in to your bank or storing bank passwords
Allocations capped at the invoice's outstanding amount and the transaction's remaining amount Payment processing or card acceptance
An append-only audit log of approvals and rejections Accounting, tax or legal advice
CSV export with protection against spreadsheet formula injection Digital euro wallets or digital euro payments
No suggested match without reference, IBAN or name evidence; tied scores shown as ambiguous Fees charged by your bank or payment provider

What is not decided yet?

We would rather list open questions than imply they are settled:

  • The exact definition of a matched transaction. It could mean an imported bank line, a suggested match or an approved allocation. We have not fixed it yet, and we will publish the definition before anyone can subscribe.
  • What happens above a limit. We have not decided between an upgrade prompt and per-transaction overage pricing.
  • Prices for Agency add-on organisations, and any annual billing. No annual discount will be offered until real subscription billing exists.
  • VAT treatment. Prices exclude VAT. The VAT shown at checkout will depend on your country and business status once billing exists.

Details of how customer data will be protected before accounts open are on our security page.

Frequently asked questions

How much does reconciliation software cost?

It ranges widely. Some vendors publish monthly plans and others quote per customer. Our illustrative plans are €19, €49 and €129 per month, excluding VAT. Compare offers on cost per matched transaction at your real volume, plus the review time that remains.

Is the price per user or per transaction?

Both drivers appear in our plans. Solo and Growth are mainly limited by matched transactions a month, and Growth includes three users. Agency is priced per group of client organisations, because accountants work across separate ledgers.

Do you take a percentage of my payments?

No. DIGITAL EUR never touches the money. The subscription is the only planned charge. Your bank's or payment provider's fees stay between you and them.

Is there a free version?

The Reconciliation Lab is free and runs in your browser with sample or your own CSV files. It does not save accounts, history or data between sessions.

Why publish prices before launch?

To give you something concrete to judge. Pricing pages that hide the price make it hard to decide whether a demo is worth your time. These numbers may change after customer interviews, and we will date any change.
